Manta chair

A Polyurethane-free armchair as the result of a study that delves into more sustainable materials and methods for producing industrial soft furniture.

The design utilizes solid wood, and sustainably cultivated and rapidly decomposing natural fibers.

The upholstery is made of Hemp denim and Kapok fiber cushioning, which is suspended on a wooden frame using sewn pockets, allowing for easy removal. The solid wood frame is assembled without the use of any adhesives. The components are joined with wooden joints that are secured with beech dowels. The front and back stretchers, however, use steel quick connection fittings to enable a knock-down structure and flat packing.
